Seaside, Oregon 2009

We love Seaside! This trip has become a tradition started a few years ago by our friends, the Allens. It is the perfect seaside town with a boardwalk, huge beach, fun shops, great eateries, lots of hotels, bumper cars, elephant ears - did I leave anything else out? Oh, yeah! Great friends! This year we journeyed there with the Allens, Gustins, Greenwoods, and the Thorpes. Between all of our families there were 17 kids and one dog! But we did it all! We had great weather - no rain - but the Friday that we were planning to spend the whole day on the beach it was sunny but really windy. It felt like we were being sandblasted - literally! We lasted until about 3:00 and then headed in and threw everyone in the pool to get the sand off! We literally took over the hotel pool when we went in! While we were there, Taylor turned 13! I can't believe we have a teenager! He was such a good sport about it - we all met up in the hotel breakfast room and sang to him. He got to go out with the guys late and play at the arcade! All in all, we had a wonderful time! Only one trip to the ER and a little sand in the eyes couldn't dampen our good time! It ended on the last day with a good old-fashioned parade of all the Miss Oregons! Oh yeah - they were all riding in Corvettes! Love it! (The picture with all the guys and kids was hilarious - we girls were headed out to dinner and we turned around to see the guys and kids trooping over to the nearby DQ - they got lots of looks and comments - "Are those all your kids?"!)
