In case we didn't think we'd done enough this summer, a group of ladies that I'm friends with put together this rafting trip. It was just an overnighter - we drove down to Hood River, OR and camped in a state park right on the river. We wondered as we drove to our spot why it wouldn't be the most popular spot in the park. The view was amazing! Well, we realized why it wasn't when we were setting up the tents and were practically blown into the Columbia River! Another clue would have been the trains that went by on the tracks about 20 feet away every 20 minutes all night. But, hey! Who's complaining! In our group was 12 really great women who were really fun to get to know better! We ate dinner in town that night and then headed to the White Salmon River the next morning. We took two boats and we each had awesome guides. The trip downriver was amazing and kind of scarey at spots. Towards the end we had the option to get out and not go over the category 5 waterfall, but none of us chickened out. Although I think I protested the whole way back to the boat! Both of the boats come over without a hitch! And we are all looking forward to making this a yearly tradition! Love you guys!
