Before.....
Well, the time has come for Taylor to get to work on his mouth! Over the next two years we will be working on his overbite and straightening his teeth. His overbite comes first - they now correct it with an appliance called the Herpst. It is huge and looks scarey! I had to include a picture just so you could see it! It also falls to me to crank it one turn every night. We do that for 10 days and then the next time he goes in we'll do it again for 10 days! He has had to learn how to eat and talk all over again! This appliance takes the place of the lovely headgear we wore in the 80's. But we've heard it could be worse - some people we've talked to had their jaws broken and then realigned. Ouch! Taylor said his way will be just fine! We'll post a picture when he gets the braces one! Gotta love being a teenager!

i had the herbst when it first came out in '97 or '98! it was a new thing and i picked that versus the headgear! it went fast though, i only had it about 5-6 months and then they said i was done. hang in there taylor! fun to see what you guys have been up to! can't wait for you to come in april. do you guys stay logged on to skype? we are logged on a lot, unless we close the laptop (which is also a lot, because landon rips keys off if we don't!) anyway we never see you guys on there otherwise we'd call. have you confirmed us as friends, we had to make a new name because we forgot our password. (geez guess I could have just written an email :) ) Miss you guys!!
Mark had the "Grasshopper" and I had to turn the dial every day too. It's amazing all the things they've designed to put into our kids mouths. He'll be even more handsome after the braces phase is over :)
