I can't believe how fast time goes by! It feels like we just took this weekend away and already it's been a month and a half! Some good friends of ours, the Gustins, have a family cabin up in Cle Elum. Their parents were gracious enough to let them bring up a few families (us, Allens, and Thorpes) to get away for a few days. We were hoping to turn it into a big sledding party on Saturday, but mother nature didn't cooperate - there was hardly any snow! But we still jumped at the chance to get away for some R&R. We had a great time! The house is really nice - each family got their own room (our boys slept in the big closet!) and we shared in the cooking duties. Can I tell you that is the only way to go? Communal cooking is the best! Those three meals we prepared were the best I've ever had! For dinner we had homemade soup and rolls, for breakfast we had pancakes, eggs, and bacon, and for lunch we had two kinds of homemade chili and cornbread! Thanks for the great food! There was still a little snow for us to get out the 4-wheelers and pull the kids around the property. We had to stop near the end because you could see the dirt coming through! We didn't want to rip up any grass. We played lots of games including an interesting "what if" game with the adults. I'm still thinking of answers for that! Thanks you guys for a great weekend away!
