I was one of the lucky ones chosen to chaperone for Katie's fieldtrip to study the salmon here in the Pacific Northwest! We had such a good time and we learned alot! The weather was perfect! A little chilly, but otherwise dry - yeah! Our first stop was the Cedar River near Maple Valley. We only saw a few salmon there - and they were dead! But when we got to the hatchery in Issaquah, there were so many! They were literally waiting in huge packs to enter the fish ladders. They were huge, too! Katie and her classmates were so good and they knew so much more than I did about the life cycle of the salmon. If you get a chance to visit I'd take it!
