I know I posted a little about Taylor turning 13 during our Seaside trip, but I have realized this week while he was away at scout camp, that I should talk more about that birthday! Turning 13 is pretty cool for kids. I remember thinking my life had started when I turned into a teenager. I'm not sure Taylor was THAT excited - I mainly think he was glad that we couldn't call him a "tweenager" anymore (he gave himself that name once and it stuck!) But I could tell he felt pretty good being called a teenager now. As for me, I'm still in denial that one of my kids could possibly be that old! We are proud of him. He loves school and just enjoys going every day. I count my blessings that I don't have to physically pry him out of bed. He has great friends - we got to know them better when he invited them to go see the new Harry Potter for his birthday party. We are very grateful for that. He has a voracious appetite for books and reading! His nightstand has more books on it than mine! He loves video games - Wii, Xbox, computer, DS, etc. He bought quite a few for his birthday and is finding it hard to stay within the hour a day limit we have on it. He also loves to build things - mainly Lego and K'ynex. I've included a few pics of his latest creations - all roller coasters and theme park rides. That's one of his favorite things to do - design roller coasters on 'Roller Coaster Tycoon'. We told him he could design the next Disneyland or something! He is very sensitive and I think that's a great quality for a guy to have. We have missed him like crazy since he's been gone this week! He is at scout camp until tomorrow and then will head to Fort Lewis for Washjam - a Washington state LDS gathering for the scouts. He won't be home until Monday! We are very grateful to have him in our family!
