San Francisco

Aaron and I were able to steal away for a few days this week to beautiful San Francisco, CA. And boy did they pull out the nice weather for us! Record temps every day we were there - mid 80's! Thank you so much! Aaron was there on business so while he was in meetings, I got to know all the shops around our hotel. We stayed right in the middle of Union Square, which is where most of the shopping is in the city. I also took the trolley down to the wharf and visited Hyde Street Pier with all the wooden boats on display, Ghirardelli Square (YUM!), and Fisherman's Wharf. Then I met back up with Aaron for a great dinner OUTSIDE (can you imagine that?) On Friday, Aaron finished up around noon, so we rented a car and drove an hour south to visit my grandma. What an amazing lady! She just turned 90 this summer and is still one of the most with-it, amazing ladies I know! We picked her up and went another 40 minutes south to Morgan Hill. My cousin, Michelle, and her husband, Ted, run a private school called Oakwood (you can look it up on the web at http://www.oakwoodweb.org/ if you are interested!) I have not seen the campus all finished and it was beautiful. We attended a choir concert of some 7th grade girls, which was so entertaining! They were really good. And my grandma really enjoyed it. We visited with Michelle for awhile and toured the campus then headed back to my grandma's where she made the best meal for Aaron and I and my Aunt Diane and Uncle Steve. We just really enjoyed visiting with them. It was my birthday on Friday and I can't think of a greater way to have spent it! Our trip ended too soon - we flew out on Saturday around 1:30. But I am so glad we were able to go! Thanks Aaron for letting me tag along!

Happy Birthday. I always remember your birthday since it's the same as Maddy's! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Great to see you have a blog! It's so fun to catch up on everyone's blogs since we don't get to see each other as much these days! That is so great that you got good weather and got to see you sweet grandma!
